Educational Qualification

  • The Combined Competitive Recruitment Examination has three stages: Preliminary Exam, Main Written Exam, and Interview (Personality Test).
  • The Preliminary Examination is objective type and used only for shortlisting candidates for the Main Exam.
  • Prelims has two compulsory papers — General Studies Paper-I (200 marks) and Paper-II (200 marks), each of 2 hours.
  • General Studies Paper-II is qualifying in nature with minimum 33% marks required.
  • Shortlisting for Mains is based on Paper-I marks and qualifying Paper-II.
  • There is negative marking of one-third (0.33) marks for every wrong answer; multiple answers are treated as incorrect.
  • The Main Examination includes nine papers — two qualifying language papers (Odia & English) and seven merit papers.
  • Merit papers include Essay, General Studies I–IV, and two Optional Subject papers.
