How to Apply Online for Assistant Editor or Assistant Chemist?

Step 1: Register on UPSC’s New Portal
Go to upsconline.nic.in, access the updated ORA (4-module) system, and complete a fresh registration—even if you’ve previously used the older OTR system 

Step 2: Fill in Your Details
Log in, select “Advt. No. 07/2025,” and accurately enter personal information, educational qualifications, work experience, and other basic details.

Step 3: Upload Documents
Upload the following scanned documents:

• Passport-style photo & signature

• Degree certificate (Bachelor’s for Editor, Master’s for Chemist)

• Experience proof (3 years for Editor; 2 years for Chemist)

• Caste/PwBD certificate (if applicable)

Step 4: Pay the Application Fee
General/OBC/EWS male candidates pay ₹25 via SBI challan, net banking, UPI, or card. Women, SC/ST, and PwBD applicants are exempt from this fee 

Step 5: Select the Post and Submit
Choose either Assistant Editor or Assistant Chemist, then submit your completed form before 3 July 2025 (23:59 hrs).

Step 6: Print the Confirmation Slip
After submission, download and print your confirmation/application slip—it will be required later at the interview stage.
